Set against the backdrop of folklore and fate, Takshakudu tells the story of a blind tribal man and his loyal dog, who embark on a perilous journey after a cursed night reduces their village to ashes—bringing a long-forgotten legend to life. As they travel through an unforgiving world, they confront the darkness and the man behind the tragedy that changed everything.

A Folklore-Inspired Thriller with Emotional Depth

Director Vinod Anantoju shared his connection to the story: “Takshakudu is very close to my heart. It was inspired by the folk tales I heard growing up—stories whispered around fires in the villages, stories that stayed with me long after. Making this film was a long journey, filled with late nights of writing and rewriting. Every frame reflects the love, patience, and effort the entire team put into bringing this story to life.

It’s more than just a thriller. It’s a journey into a world where myths breathe, where silence builds tension, and where every sound matters. I hope audiences feel the same thrill we did while making it, and carry the story with them after the credits roll.”

Anand Devarakonda on the Heart of Takshakudu

Speaking about his role, actor Anand Devarakonda said: “Takshakudu is more than just an action drama. What stood out to me was how Vinod took ancient folklore and made it relevant for today. At its core, this isn’t just a battle between good and evil — it’s a reflection on greed, loss, and human nature.

Playing Suri was a chance to explore a world where every decision matters, and where everyone has something to lose. The story doesn’t just entertain — it makes you think about what drives us and how far we’re willing to go. I’m truly excited for audiences to experience this journey.”
