During the candid conversation on the show, Mona took viewers back to a time when chasing her acting dreams meant relentless travel and countless auditions. Recalling her routine from those years, she said, “I would take an Ashiad bus from Pune every day, and come to Mumbai to audition.” She went on to explain how she would get down at Dadar, head straight to Famous Studios for auditions and then catch an evening bus back to Pune—repeating the exhausting cycle with unwavering determination.
Mona also spoke about the moment she learned that producers Deeya and Tony Singh were working on a new television project. Determined to seize the opportunity, she auditioned for the show that would later become Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. Sharing the experience, she said, “I found out that Deeya and Tony were working on a project and auditions were underway, so I went for it. I cleared the first round, and then they kept calling me back for the third, fourth, and fifth rounds. In total, I ended up giving around 50 auditions. At one point, I asked the makers if they were even planning to cast me, as I was spending so much on auditions. They then told me it was a big show and that I had been finalised.”
That confirmation proved to be the turning point in Mona Singh’s life. Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin not only made her a household name but also went on to become a cult classic, redefining how female protagonists were portrayed on Indian television. The show’s success resonated deeply with audiences and continues to be remembered as one of the most iconic dramas in the medium.
Currently, Mona Singh effortlessly navigates films, OTT platforms and diverse roles, earning acclaim for her versatility. Her journey—from daily bus rides and repeated rejections to being celebrated on Kaun Banega Crorepati—stands as a powerful reminder that perseverance and patience often lay the foundation for lasting success.
