Set in the fictional town of Bhathkandi in Jharkhand, Gram Chikitsalay showcases the life at a Primary Health Centre. In the first season, Dr. Gargi was showcased as a steady and compassionate medical authority, balancing professional responsibilities with emotional intelligence. Portrayed by Akansha, the character turned out to be a key pillar of the narrative, often guiding Dr. Prabhat, played by Amol Parashar, through the challenges of working in an under-resourced environment. Notably, the show avoided conventional romantic tropes, instead focusing on mutual respect and shared purpose between its leads.

With the second season, the narrative is set to shift more prominently towards Dr. Gargi’s personal and professional evolution. Speaking about the new chapter, Akansha said, “It feels great to have Amazon Prime Video back a story that feels so rooted and real. What excites me most about returning for Gram Chikitsalay season 2 is getting to explore Dr. Gargi in a much deeper way. This season, you see more of her vulnerabilities, her conflicts, and also her quiet strength. She represents so many doctors in small towns and villages who are doing their best every single day with whatever they have. Playing her has been incredibly humbling, and I’ve always felt a strong responsibility to tell her story as honestly as possible.”

The upcoming season aims to delve deeper into the complexities of rural medical practice, highlighting both systemic challenges and the resilience required to navigate them. Dr. Gargi’s arc is expected to take centre stage, offering audiences a closer look at the sacrifices and emotional strength that define her journey.

Beyond this series, Akansha is also exploring new opportunities, with Ikka among her upcoming projects, signalling a continued expansion of her work across diverse narratives.
